Comments:

After graduation from Med school in 1961, I interned one year at John Gaston Hospital then entered military service with US Public Health Service (C Guard) 4 years in Clarksdale Mississippi the three years of internal medicine residency at Univ Of Tenn Memphis. We went back to Clarksdale for one year of private practice, but heard the call of home. We have been happily settled in Dyersburg almost 43 years where I am still engaged in full time practice--no plans for retirement--God willing. Through the years, it has been my joy to care for hundreds or even thousands of Lake County people who are MKOP--the very best in the world!!! Norma and I attend Church at Tucker St Church which we cofounded with three other families in 1971; I have served as an elder for 37 years. our civic interests are legion. but my present preoccupation is serving as president of the Library board; we have just raised a $3,000,000 new building (Come see us). Most spare time is spent at our country place, Vilja, (when we aren't travelling to see children). Our Class of 54 has a 5 yearly reunion faithfully at Vilja.

Most influential teacher

Lara Kendall, Goldyne Taylor and Harbert and Nellie M. Bennett

School Story:

My story of 12 years at Ridgely School is about as light brown and lackluster as they come, but they were the happiest of my life. I spent the 3rd grade sharing the mutual nervous breakdown that Winnie and I were giving each other. I realized when I passed to the 4th grade to Miss Paulyne I only had a short time left to live. And then .......she turned out to be one of my best friends and patients. I was eulogist at her funeral. I can still recite the "Prologue to Canterbury Tales" in Middle English--stuff you never forget.

Did you read all of the Canterbury tales? One of my assignments at USM was discussing "The Millers Wife" with the class.
